Hi, I know it's been forever.

I've been writing and re-writing this post for a month now deciding how to apologise and explain my absence for the past however many months. But I woke up this morning and decided I had better just jump in and type something because time is just flying past.
I had contemplated deleting this blog but I came to the conclusion that I love this blog and I'm going to stick at it. But I will be making a few changes to the layout and running of this blog. In addition to this I've decided to keep this a mainly period drama blog and leave my fangirling (particularly the Harry Lloyd fangirling) to my tumblr page. So thank you to you all for sticking with me, give me a few days to organise this blog and we will be ready to go back to normal.

I love you guys,

Mel xx

Ps. Obviously I won't be able to catch up on everything I've missed but I will be flicking through quite a few of my favourite blogs and commenting on some of your older posts- so don't mind me.

There you are dear dear Mel! I've been meaning to e-mail you and make sure all is well! I have missed your lovely posts here, but have been enjoying your Tumblr creations! I know others will be glad that you're back too!

While you were away I fell in love with the Robin Hood TV series, and it's all thanks to you! I recently did a post/semi-review of the series and particularly talked about my favorite characters. I'm officially a fan of Robin Hood, Harry Lloyd, Lucy Griffiths and Joe Armstrong (and really all of the other actors and characters from that series!). :)
I also reviewed the new BBC Great Expectations adaptation which I quite liked as well. Might you review GE? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it as one who loves the book. I'm hoping to read the GE as soon as I finish reading A Tale of Two Cities (5 more chapters to go!).

It's lovely to have you back Mel! Take your time and just enjoy. Can't wait to see what your creative mind has in store! :) *hugs*

Miss Laurie it is so lovely to hear from you again! And Thank you I've actually really missed talking to you! I saw on tumblr a day or so ago that you reblogged a Robin Hood post and I became so excited that I jumped straight onto your blog and read the post/review about Robin Hood. I was about to comment but I thought I had better officially log on update before that. So basically it is your post that pushed me to come back here :)
I am so excited that you watched it and that you are now a Robin Hood fan! Is there a name for Robin Hood fans? There has to be a name to call us other than 'Robin Hood fans' hmmm like: Hoodies? Sovereigns of Sherwood? Not that it matters, of course. Haha :)

Ohhh I will definitely catch up on your GE review. That adaptation was simply wonderful despite it's dreadful wanderings from the original book, I cannot help but LOVE it. The casting was quite perfect and everything was just--as you can see I cannot talk about it enough. So yes, I do hope to do a review in the future. The book is even lovelier so I believe that you will enjoy it. Wow that's great that you're reading A Tale of Two Cities. I haven't read that one yet so I look forward to hearing what you think of it. At the moment I'm reading Bleak House and I'm finding it extremely interesting.

Thank you again so much. That was without a doubt the most lovely welcome back message. <3 xx

I almost literally screamed when I saw this post! Mel, you're back! I missed all your posts on this blog...and you don't know how glad I am with your decision to keep it. I've passed by your Tumblr blog a few times, and it's delightfully lovely. Too bad I don't have a Tumblr account so I can follow you there, too.

Anyway, welcome back! I can hardly wait for more posts from you.

Hi Mel!
I’ve been following your blog for a while now and I can’t say how excited I became when I saw that you had made a new post! I really think I might have started bouncing in my seat.

*cough* *cough* yes, you were the one who started me on Robin Hood obsession too…*cough* I’m just attempting to write up a post of my own that sounds somewhat intelligent rather than just unintelligible squealing *giggles*

Anyways, I wanted to officially introduce myself so hi, hello *waves merrily*

Your tumblr is also lovely!

*beams* Have a lovely day, Emily

Good to have you back! I'm so glad you've decided to carry on with this blog :) When I saw the new adaptation of Great Expectations and saw Harry Lloyd as Herbert I thought of you, haha! I greatly enjoyed it, although the book (which I've almost finished) is even better :) Welcome back!

MISSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU'RE BACK!!!!! I was dreadfully afraid you'd been carried off by gipsies, my dear! I'm glad to see you are safe and sound. During your absence I have seen two movies with Harry Lloyd and thought of you both times. ;-) Oh, and also re-watched the 1999 version of David Copperfield knowing he was young Steerforth... that was rather amusing. ;) So 3 movies, in point of fact.

Anyways, I am so pleased you are back! I've been missing you! You should definitely check out Yet Another Period Drama Blog which popt up whilst you were gone. ;-)

I look forward to seeing you around again. =)

I honestly don't know what to say to you all. I feel like the prodigal son (or daughter in this case) who is being welcomed back into the open arms of his family.

Maria Elisabeth: Thank you, I'm so glad to be back <3

Jemimah: I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading your comment! I'm ever so sorry I left in the first place and I can't wait to get back to posting and commenting/reading everyone else's posts. I've missed hearing from you and I'm itching to catch up on what I've missed on your lovely blog.
Thanks for taking the time to check out my tumblr. I find it's a lot easier to update that blog than this one but despite tumblr many advantages I find blogger in general to be a much more positive place. So I'm mighty glad to be back! xx

Emily: *bone crushing hug* Hi! It's so lovely to meet you! Thank you for following me, sorry that I haven't been updating lately although my absence was almost worth it just to receive your comment. The mental image I have in my head of you bouncing in your seat as you read this post makes me exceedingly happy and absolutely flattered!
To also know that I started you on the Robin Hood obsession is about one of the best things in the world. I absolutely understand how hard writing a post for it would be. If I had to write on now it would be utter chaos and loaded with unitelligible fangirl squealing with capslock and key board smashes and probably turn out like this: "The title of the show is called Robin Hood but it really should be called THE SHOW THAT BREAKS YOUR HEART. So beware of this show. Firstly it's beauty will kill you. For example Robin is charming, Marian is beautiful, Allan is quite adorable, Guy is ohhh so handsome AND OH MY BROKEN HEART asadswyfeeiotrugfscdfn (keyboard smash 01) help meeeeee! WILL SCARLETT is played by the one and only Harry Lloyd and *throws computer screen out window* asjkdf (keyboard smash 02) HONESTLY WHERE DID HE GET HIS FACE!!!!!!! *sobs forever while designing wallpaper that is Will's face so that I can cover my bedroom walls with it and forever be surrounded by his beauty*" so don't ever worry about trying to write intelligent because either way it has to be better than what I just wrote there :)

Thank you again and I love your blog too by the way. I cannot wait to get some time to have a proper wander around it! xx

Abby: Thank you so much. I actually made a horrible hiccup/choke/squeal sound when you said you thought of me when you saw Harry in Great Expectations! It makes me so happy so thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it and I am even happier that you have almost finished the book. Dicken's truly wrote a gem with that one. <3

Melody: MY DEAR LOVELY MELODY! Thank you, I was a little afraid at times too :) but I'm definitely back safe and sound! I've certainly missed you too! I've felt a little empty since leaving here and I can definitely attribute that to not hearing from/ talking to you and some various other lovely ladies on here. Thank you for the note about that Period Drama Blog, I will check it out asap but if you are a fan it has my instant follow :)

Two Harry Lloyd movies... really, I'm so proud of you! hahaha and you thought of me *huge smile* you don't know how happy that makes me feel! xx

Elizabeth: Aww, Thank you. And I know I am so sorry I had a few family things going on a little while back and then I just never got back to that place I was before (here on this blog). But everything is okay now and I'm so excited to catch up on things I've missed and begin to post again. <3

Riley: My darling R! *hugs and kisses* I'm so blessed to have you following me here as well. You're my little ray of sunshine who always makes my day better. I can't wait to begin posting on here again. Thank you for asking and encouraging me to start posting again! <3

Indeed, I am so glad you are back and we can chat some more! =) Was it you a while back that said they might be making a movie of A Gown of Spanish Lace? Do you know anything more about that? I haven't heard anything.

Haha, a couple months ago I was asking Miss Laurie if she knew where on earth you'd gone! I was a little concerned, but she said you still posted things on your tumblr page and I was comforted. hehe ;-)

Oh yes, I am definitely a fan of Yet Another Period Drama Blog. If you haven't had a look yet, the address is:

Miss Dashwood is currently hosting a delightful Anne of Green Gables week, if you're interested. =)

Sorry again for this late reply I've had an infection the past week.

Yes that was me who wrote about a possible adaptation of that wonderful novel. I did some research a while ago but there wasn't any new information. I'll look into it again and write up a post on what I find :)

Oh I know I'm so sorry. I had some family things. I have disabled step-brothers and sister and due to this sometimes things can get a quite difficult. It's hard to explain. But with everything going on I just felt like I had nothing more to give and that with everything seemingly falling apart around me that I felt like a hypocrite writing 'fluffy' pieces on my blog. Tumblr was a perfect escape, updating was simply a click, I didn't have to write anything much.
But I am ever so sorry I left, I'm sorry for worrying you.

Now...I'm going to run off and follow that blog you suggested, catch up on the blogs I've been missing. And then begin writing my own post- what a perfect Saturday :)

love Missie xx

ps. I hope you are well and I've missed our chats ever so much!

I hope you're feeling better dear Mel! Being sick like that is no fun.

It truly is good to have you "back". You were certainly missed (and worried about a bit) because we love you and care about you.

I understand the need to take a step back and also not wanting to write "fluffy" things about your fandoms when there's other hard things going on in your life. Tumblr is so easy to use and a great stress reliever I sometimes find.
I've been praying for you and I'll continue to pray for you and your family. Care giving is hard sometimes but there can also be many blessings.

Some of the reason I like blogging is escaping for a bit into delightful ramblings. But the best thing about blogging is the friends we make along the way, real people we may never meet on this earth but who definitely care.

Praying you have a good week!

Love & hugs,
Laurie :)

Thank you so much, your prayers are truly appreciated. And I cannot explain how great it is to know that you also understand the needing to take a step back- although if I had it to do over again I would have written a post saying that I needed to take step back from this blog for a while. Perhaps then I wouldn't have worried everyone.

Blogging really is a bit of an escape, I had forgotten how wonderful the sound of vigorous typing was and how satisfying the feeling of hitting the publish button was :) But really that is all nothing compared to the friends we make here!

Your friendship is truly a blessing! Thank you for everything.

Love,
Mel

Love the new header! The GE pics are lovely and your blending of them is exquisite! I also love that you put the complete quote from NA - it's probably my favorite from that book. :)
Hope you're having a good week dear friend!
