Something that I have not shared with you yet is my love of sewing. I only began sewing as a hobby a little while ago and although I have not had any experience or lessons I am enjoying it immensely!
I started out drawing some sketches of period costumes I liked and scaled them down so that they would fit Barbie dolls. I haven't finished any of them yet but I thought I would show you all the first one I began which I designed from a dress I liked in the movie the Titanic.
I was/ am a little hesitant in putting up pictures of my work considering this is my first attempt and it is still very unfinished but this post definitely would be quite boring without pictures so I am going to upload them anyway and worry about it later :)
Okay so as you can see mine differs significantly at the moment but I think you can still see some similarities however when it's finished it will look more alike to Kate Winslet's one which you can see here on the left.
I decided to make changes in the colour scheme, in particular a white lace over the top of red satin material rather than her black lace over the pinkish satin. I have also altered the sleeves as you can see as they are ruffled and standing up.
The lace will be cut and arranged across the dress in the same style as hers, with the four pieces coming across at differing angles and the longer piece on the right hand side.
At the moment the upper front part of the dress also doesn't look like hers but it is my plan is for it to look different and I haven't quite made up my mind on what I am actually going to do on this part.
Here you can see the full length of the dress
(Note: The lace will be cut in the same style as the picture of Kate Winslet's dress shown on the right)

I have also recently started to quilt and have finished one small one and I am just beginning another. I will post up some pictures of these next time I get a chance :)

You sewed that Titanic-inspired dress? That's so wonderful and the little Barbie-sized dress is really cute! I'd love to see more of the things you sew!
Ohh thank you! I will definitely post up more pictures of this dress once I have finished it :)
